Nioclás Ó' Gríofán passed on this photo to me. It's of Sean Harty
opening drills for beet with his horse and 'Planet' at his farm in
Ballinagoul, Ring in the early 50's. The image was taken by a
family member who was home from america.
The bottom three photos, I took are of a turnip lifting/topping machine . Nioclás (pictured) remembers using it as a youngster. It was probably made locally by a blacksmith. click on the Images
