List of names of the people who lived down the village in the 1930/40’s

We lived on the main Rd.

Upper half of the village boreen

Maura ( Murray) Tobin, (my Great Grand mother, I think that’s where Pat lives today)(Pat Tobin)

All these houses were on the left side of the road except Pat and Eily

Cross road and lower half of the village

All of these houses were on the right of the Rd. except

Pat and Hannie Tobin, ? Halley, Mary Boyo, and Martin Draper

A little Rd. led from the cross road to the main Helvick Rd. 2 families, Ellen Terry and Mikie Curran.

All of these people were older and some retired , the only houses that had children at school was Maurice Walsh, Jack Cuddihy, Ned Donavan, and Noonie Harty’s children were much younger.

Most of the women were known by their maiden names no matter how long they were married, I’m not sure of Mary Boyo if that was her proper name or Mary Vicky

but that is what they were known as.
