Mary O' Connor Minnesota

Hello Eddie,

I've been reading your Bridget McCarthy story and it is so cool. Thank you! What a piece of history you have saved. I love reading the names. I've also read your chats w/ Mr. Terry of New Hampshire.

There was a Terry family in Lafayette County southwest Wisconsin where many of my Ring/Old Parish families settled. A Terry married a Christopher. That Christopher surname came from Ballynaharda. I've always assumed that the Terry name also was of Ring area basically because of the marriage. I don't know much of those Terry's but I'd be happy to visit w/ Mr. Terry of NH. I think his were from Abbeyside?

We're into DNA testing now. We've had success on the Christopher name. Ours match 12/12 with Tony Christopher of the UK who has the website. His were from Abbeyside. Ours from Old Parish.

I've heard of all the building in the past 10 years in Ring. Your photos prove it. Well, others have discovered this little piece of heaven. The last time I was there was 2004. The funny part of that story in your blog were the photos and the quote that "no one ever sees them."

I'm also chasing Careys. I have the 2004 an Linn Bhui book by Nioclas McGrath. He was able to name siblings and the father for my Mary Carey Fitzgerald of Mweelahorna of the 1820/30s. I also discovered an error in my research from his writings in that book. So, I've split the Carey families. The Mooney Pub folks are on a different list now but I think we still have a common Carey ancestor. What a treasure is that man, Mr. McGrath. I would like to meet him. I've talked to him on the phone.

I hope all is well for you in Dungarvan/Abbeyside/Ring area. You are also a treasure!
